Elements and Performance Criteria
- Carry out wheel alignment pre-checks
- Information is gained from customer outlining handling characteristics and history
- Nature and scope of work requirements are identified and confirmed
- Procedures and information such as workshop manuals and specifications, and tools required, are sourced
- Vehicle/equipment tests are performed to confirm need for alignment
- Vehicle wheel alignment pre-checks are carried out in accordance with manufacturer/component supplier procedures and workplace requirements
- Perform vehicle wheel alignment
- Correct information is accessed and interpreted from manufacturer/component supplier specifications
- Wheel alignment measuring equipment is connected to vehicle in accordance with manufacturer/component supplier specifications
- Wheel alignment is completed without causing damage to any component or system
- Corrective adjustments/repairs are carried out in accordance with manufacturer/component supplier specifications
- Vehicle/equipment is tested to confirm accuracy of adjustments according to manufacturer/component supplier specifications and customer requirements
- Wheel alignment testing and adjustment is carried out according to industry regulations/guidelines, WHS legislation, legislation and enterprise procedures/policies
- Workplace documentation is completed and dealt with relevant to alignment outcomes
- Complete documentation and service history documents
